Help determine topics discussed and register to attend January’s Provost Gathering
On Jan. 10, 2020, the Office of the Provost will host a daylong event devoted to how UF faculty, researchers, academic staff and graduate students can help to build trust in research. Nearly two dozen groups have submitted proposals for breakout sessions to be held throughout the day, and the final topics are now being voted on by the UF community.
Plenary sessions for the day’s events include experts from Science Friday, the Conversation and the Op-Ed Project, featuring journalist and author Bina Venkataraman and Florida’s chief science officer Tom Frazer. The gathering, which will be held at the UF Cultural Plaza, is being organized in partnership with the Consortium on Trust in Media and Technology, the College of Journalism and Communication Center for Public Interest Communications, the UF Office of Research, the Bob Graham Center for Public Service, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Center for the Humanities and the Public Sphere.
The event is free for UF faculty, academic staff and graduate students to attend, but seating is limited. To view the full agenda, vote on breakout topics and register to attend, please visit http://trust.jou.ufl.edu/provostgathering/.
