New professional development series aims to bolster UF’s efforts to promote racial justice
In response to President Kent Fuchs’ message last June that outlined steps UF would take to effect positive change against racism, UF Training & Organizational Development will introduce a new professional development initiative, Stronger Together, beginning this February. These offerings build upon the required “Managing Bias” online module to provide additional, optional areas of focus based on input from “100 UF Voices” that included faculty, staff and student representatives from various colleges as well representatives from the offices of Human Resources, Chief Diversity Officer and Student Affairs.
Stronger Together will provide UF faculty and staff with the opportunity to participate in a series of conversations and educational offerings designed to better understand and address racism and bias and help promote racial justice at the individual, institutional, and systemic levels. The context of fostering awareness, building capacity and promoting action will weave throughout the offerings. This series will help UF move forward together against racism and toward a more diverse and inclusive campus.
The initiative will include online courses, webinars, interviews and panel discussions as well as a separate series especially for leaders. Some of the upcoming sessions are listed here, and we’ll continue to share upcoming sessions as they become available. Click on any of the links below to register to attend.
