Looking to brush up on your financial literacy and retirement planning? UFHR is hosting a number of FLARE courses this November and December:
GET140 Medicare
Monday, Nov. 5, 9–11 a.m.
Instructor: SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders)
This program will provide unbiased information on Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare supplemental insurance, long-term care insurance, prescription assistance and Medicare fraud. In addition, information on how to access the Social Security Administration online will be provided.
GET124 Sharpening Investment Skills
Friday, Nov. 9, 9–11 a.m.
Instructor: TIAA
The presentation will help educate you about the benefits of asset allocation, diversification, tax strategies, retirement income and common pitfalls. If you want to learn more about investing, you should attend this course.
GET573 Florida Retirement System/DROP Workshop
Monday, Dec. 3, 2–4 p.m.
Instructor: University Benefits
This workshop will provide you with an understanding of the Florida Pension Plan and the Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP) through a review of current tools, including videos and webcasts. It will also cover pertinent topics like how to use online resources, apply for your retirement or DROP, how to convert your health and life coverage, and more.
