Introductory Active Learning for Course Design Workshop
Do you want to increase student engagement and enhance your students’ acquisition of knowledge? Would you like your students to start taking more ownership of their learning? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then be sure to register for the UFIT CITT Introductory Active Learning for Course Design Workshop. Active Learning is a powerful teaching strategy, and in this half-day workshop, you will participate in hands-on active learning activities that you can incorporate directly into your instruction.
Course Mapping Camp
Follow course design best practices to create a pedagogically sound blueprint for any course at this 2-day in-person workshop (9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day). Instructors from all disciplines are welcome to attend, and no educational background is necessary. We will teach you to create or modify course goals and learning objectives, and align them with a variety of assessment types.
Flipped Classroom Training
This in-person training provides a solid foundation for the best practices of designing and implementing flipped instruction. The training models flipped classroom strategies by assigning participants pre-readings and a readiness assessment quiz. Each lesson modeled uses a template that is easily adaptable and remains accessible with an active gatorlink.
Best Practices for Teaching Online Certificate of Completion
The Best Practices for Teaching Online certificate of completion provides participants the opportunity to explore pedagogically sound course design principles that promote student success in the online learning environment. This series will address the needs of diverse learners through student-centered activities, while also focusing on key issues such as accessibility, usability, and engagement.
Fostering Student Achievement Certificate of Completion
The Fostering Student Achievement certificate of completion explores ways to positively impact student success through quality course design. Instructors will be provided with the tools necessary to successfully implement a more student-focused learning environment. This series will address the fundamentals, strategies, and implementation of non-traditional assessments, the design and application of rubrics and feedback, and the utilization of course analytics and quiz statistics in e-Learning.
Teaching with Technology Certificate of Completion
The Teaching with Technology certificate of completion explores ways to increase student engagement and improve instructor presence by providing participants with strategies and tools to create a technology-enhanced learning environment. This series will address fundamentals, methods, and implementation of technology to improve the overall learning experience.
Teaching for Inclusivity and Accessibility Certificate of Completion
The Teaching for Inclusivity and Accessibility certificate of completion helps instructors reach a diverse group of students and considers issues of multiculturalism, gender identity, access and disability, and more. It covers technical, social, and pedagogical aspects of education and focuses on relevant and reflective activities that allow participants to implement changes in their teaching practice.
Principles of Effective Instruction Certificate of Completion
The Principles of Effective Instruction certificate of completion provides participants the option to choose their own educational experience by completing five focused professional development opportunities. This series will address components of instructional concepts including pedagogical theory, course design, student engagement, educational technology, and the role of assessments in online learning.

Employee Education Program (EEP)
The Employee Education Program, or EEP, is an opportunity funded by university resources that enables full-time UF Academic Personnel, TEAMS employees, and USPS employees who have been employed in good standing for at least six months to receive tuition assistance for up to six credit hours of instruction per semester at the state university closest to their work location. TEAMS employees may also attend classes at a public community or state college closest to their work location.
