RSH279 – UFIRST Introduction

This course serves as an introduction to navigating and searching the UF Integrated Research Support Tool (UFIRST) and is a pre-requisite for all other UFIRST courses.


RSH280 – UFIRST Proposals

In this training, you will learn how to use the University’s proposal routing system, which includes functions for entering proposal information, creating budgets, attaching supporting documentation and routing agreements and proposals to the Division of Sponsored Programs (DSP).


RSH281 – Grants.gov Submissions via UFIRST SF424

This course covers how to develop and coordinate applications to Federal Grant Programs for submission via UFIRST to Grants.gov. It outlines how to create the SF424 Application Package from the UFIRST Proposal, import subawards, update the SF424 Application Package after changes have been made to the UFIRST Proposal, and notify DSP that the UFIRST Proposal and SF424 Application Package are ready for final review, approval, and submission to Grants.gov.

RSH202 – Solicitation Review & Proposal Development

Available as an on-demand course through myTraining

This session covers how to properly read a Solicitation and confirm proposals are developed in compliance with Solicitation. We will also review UF’s policies for research proposals and the overall proposal submission and approval process.


RSH203 – Budget Development

Available as an on-demand course through myTraining

This session will cover the steps to developing an accurate budget, including all budget guidelines and policies. Key terms will be defined, such as Direct & F&A Costs, Sub recipient, vendor, consultant, cost sharing and matching. We will also cover the impact budgeting has on effort reporting.


RSH204 – Non-Fiscal Compliance

This session will introduce the broad field of research compliance. We’ll discuss the major areas of compliance such as research involving human and vertebrate animal subjects, recombinant DNA, biohazards, and radioactive materials. We’ll also look at the role of the sponsored programs administrator in facilitating compliance and supporting the conduct of research.


RSH207 – Effort Commitments, Management, and Reporting

Available as an on-demand course through myTraining

RSH207 covers key concepts related to effort commitments, management and reporting. This course replaces mandatory training courses RSH220 & RSH230 for staff who are involved in the administrative components of sponsored programs. Staff who have previously completed RSH220 & RSH230 are required to complete RSH207 to maintain access to sponsored programs information, systems and reporting tools.


RSH208 – Post Award Management & Monitoring Best Practices

This session will cover the best practices of handling post awards, including the reconciliation process, managing PI meetings, reporting and using myInvestiGator.
